Cyprus Sunshine Cup 2010: triple result for Czech Kulhavy, who triumphed in Afxentia #3
Czech Jaroslav Kulhavy and Annika Langvad from Denmark won the second round of Cyprus Sunshine Cup 2010 series. Both of them won the last round of the Afxentia series and leaded the overall ranking.
Till the beginning Emil Lindgren (Sve) and Hellenic Periklis Ilias were the greatest opponents, while Janka Stevkova (Svk) played an important role in the Open Women race. The final victory of the overall ranking goes to Alexandra Engen (Sve).
Since the first lap Jaroslav Kulhavy (Rubena Birell Specialized) leaded the race.
Emil Lindgren (Rabobank-Giant Offroad Team) was not able to re-join him in the first part of the competition, but he performed in the peloton group besides Periklis Ilias (Gre/ISD) and Sunshine Cup's leader Jan Skarnitzl (Dimp-GIANT). A chain problem stopped the winner of Voroklini round, who preceded 2009 Marathon World Champion Roel Paulissen (Bel/Cannondale).

Kulhavy won the third consecutive rounds and leaded the final overall ranking of Afxentia series, preceding Sweden Lindgren. Despite his technical problem, Skarnitzl was able to fight and keep his 3rd place in the Afxentia overall ranking. 
The final result of the Open Women race has been decided in the last lap, when Danish Langvad preceded all her antagonists.

At the beginning German Elisabeth Brandau (Ger/Haibike) leaded the race, but in the first long lap she has fallen down and punctured. Despite the fall and the break of her rear brake level in the final lap, Langvad won but her advantage was sensibly reduced. Janka Stevkova (CKEpic-Dohnany) and Alexandra Engen (Rothaus-Cube) completed the podium. 4th place for Sue Clarke (Gbr/Orange Monkey).
Next Sunday the final round of Cyprus Sunshine Cup series will take place in Amathous.

Ora, nonostante la maglia di campionessa del mondo la canadese si trova davanti ad un bivio: puntare tutto alla conferma della maglia appena conquistata o tentare l'assalto all'oro olimpico.
